Cleanin out a closet, I found a fancy velvet holiday dress that my daughter wore when she was little. I was glad to pass it on using Freecycle!
Picked up: November 24, 2009
How I did it: I just kept looking more critically at the things I'd acquired over time. If the item didn't serve my purposes anymore, I'd put it on the Freecycle list. I was amazed to see how many of these items that could have ended up in landfill really brightened someone else's life!

Somehow I wound up with my grandparent’s console type radio….one of those old-type radios that you can imagine your parents listening to those radio serials on when they were little kids. Unfortunately, it didn’t work any more and was just sitting in our garage getting dusty. So I found someone on Freecycle who is into fixing up that sort of thing, and today it was picked up.
Kind of mixed feelings getting rid of it, but then it’s been sitting in the garage for nine years and no one has gotten around to fixing it yet. I hope the new owner has better luck!

When we purchased our set of Childcraft books, we also got a big box of preschool educational stuff called the “Early World of Learning”. It had little books, along with cassette tapes that read the books to the kids, and activity cards and things like that. Freecycled it today, I hope some new kids can enjoy it!

Had a pair of snowboarding boots which don’t fit The Boy any more. Now that it’s snowing here again, easy to find a new home for these on Freecycle!
Only ten more items to finish this goal, I should be able to do this soon, cuz I have tons of un-needed items still sitting around here!

Today I freecycled about 20 old educational programs, such as Encarta and some math programs for grade-school aged children.
I hope the people who picked them up will get some use out of them!

I am beginning to deal with my Darling Daughter’s junk she left behind. She had an electronic keyboard, which of course she took to New York, but left the stand for it here. Finally getting it out of the closet and the house!
Picked up on August 27, 2009.
