How I did it: Just kept it short and to the point, but not brusque.
If people are interested in what you're saying or how you feel about something and want to know more, they will ask.

I am an honest person, I hope anyone who knows me would feel comfortable vouching for me. I probably should have said, “I want to be able to express myself freely at all times.” I know we can’t always do that in all circumstances, but I guess for me it’s more of a need to be able to make my own decisions and choices and not be criticised or feel I have to conform to what someone wants me to be. Sometimes I feel like I have to hold in what I feel because it seems nothing I say or do matters.
