get on better with my father

but he can be a very difficult person…well he is very difficult! And getting older has helped him to be more calm. In turn the things that used to bother me about him have gotten less important to argue about. It doesn’t mean that I like what he says, but I just flet it go. I know he won’t change the way he speaks and treats people. But I have changed the way it affexcts me. I just let his comments slide right off me…like Teflon!
I wish he would give more respect to my mother and not treat her like a doormat and slave, but I know at this point it is fruitless. He doesn’t think he is doing anything wrong. So I just have learned to change my attitudes towards him. It was hard at 1st…but now it is a breeze! Wish I knew this years ago! Would have saved me so many years and tears of frustration and aggravation!
