i want to spend more time searching new friend
How to have more stimulating conversations about things that matter
How I did it: Just do it. Find someone who will talk to you about something you think are valuable or important and share your views, ideas and opinions. I have AMAZING conversations with my fiance, and also joined a group of artists who meet regularly to talk about art, issues and how we can contribute to the world.
Lessons & tips: As with any goal - stop WANTING to do it, and do it. Just go for it! And anything that is worth doing might not always be easy, so don't give up.
Resources: Networking with people. No, not on the internet, physically! Get together, join forums in your town or start one.
People doing this are also doing these things:

To achieve this goal, one must actually first decide what matters. And THIS, my friend, differs from person to person and from day to day. People have different perceptions to SO many things. And while my perception of a specific thing may differ from yours, so will our perception of the IMPORTANCE of the said matter. To me, wildlife conservation is a matter of importance, but to you it’s something on the fringes of your interest field. And while our perception of importance already differs, our perception of wildlife conservation will also differ – I would say that there’s not enough being done, while you may think the government should use more money on people than wildlife. Ouch, now my head hurts.
i’m part of a group that’s going to start some kind of reading club soon and i’m looking forward to it – and I think I need to work on the art of conversation
I’ve been spending a lot of time catching up with friends old and new in the last couple of days and it’s been fun. When I get nervous, I’m the type of person who talks too much. Luckily most of those I’ve spoken with in the last few days haven’t been people I’m too nervous around. Why so nervous anyway?
I am so sick of small-talk. If I am going to talk to you for more than a simple ‘hello….how are you….goodbye’ than more likely than not, you better have something intelligent to say to me, and I willl most def. have something to say to you.
