    Not yet... 16 months ago

The race isn’t until Oct 4th but we have the team set to go so I just wanted to knock it off my list.

Started to put together a team for next year. Nothing concrete though.

I’ve come to the conclusion that this is more out of my reach than I previously would have admitted, namely because I’m not much of a swimmer, and I can’t kayak. So, that eliminates 99% of the adventure races and triathalons out there (unless I can find a running/biking/sack race event). For now, I’ll be content with the goals focused on running and cycling.

I don’t have any plans to do this soon, since I don’t have a team, and I have alot other events that I am getting ready for, but I definitely am going to compete in a couple years.

Time to take the plunge! 2 years ago

I’ve been thinking about adventure racing since the first time I saw the “Eco-Challenge” on TV. I WILL complete a small, local adventure race in 2007.

On of my 43 things is to work out more consistently so today on my way to the gym I took an a slightly different route and came across a local vancouver free paper called Get out There .
One of my biggest obstacles to this goal (and I have had it for a while) has been this unknowness (?/?) of the sport and where to start. Well that is all about to change – in the paper is a short story about the ALS challenge. A fundraising event that provides adventure training and a race! All for free as long as you raise $700 for ALS. I think I can knock off about 5 of my 43 things in one event! Anyway if any one is in the VAncouver area and interested check out http://www.alsadventure.com. and we will see you on the course!
