I’m so glad I visited there before Nepal had its present problem with Maoist insurgency. Kathmandu is one of my favorite cities. It had a nice vibe to it, and I never felt afraid after dark, like I’d feel in Oakland or Detroit. I hope someday it will be safe to visit there again, but right now I would not recommend it.
