I am at a crossroads in my education. I have finally gone back to school to become a court reporter. I initially wanted to become a teacher many years ago, and then a psychologist, but now, because so much time has gone by, I’m thinking of something much more practical and instantly high income, so voila, court reporter. BUT, I feel as though I may be in over my head, and I’m kind of leaning back toward something more organically matched to my immediate skills. What should I do?

I have a variety of experiences, skills and talents and feel totally open to doing anything. I just want to get back to work and make enough money to pay the bills and on the side work on my businesses. Right now I don’t have enough coming in to give me the basic stability to be able to grow my businesses. Also, I am living in Mexico and am really tired of it and want to get back to living in the USA, and hopefully in California or Hawaii.
I am so happy and grateful now that I have a great new job with a lot better pay in my brand new hometown of Baltimore!
Just trying to see if I’ve made the right career choice and what might be some alternatives

I think those are my skills, talents and passion. I still really like my job. Even if at some point I leave this co. I’ll think I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. For now, it meets many of my needs.

I was at the gov’t thing. It was a living nightmare. Gov’t jobs suck. It’s like prison. It’s a bunch of lifers trying to screw the freshmeat! I got this great new job in my field and at a salary I can live with and with people who are intelligent and interested in what they are doing. I’ve only been there a week but I hope to learn a lot.
