I’ve started a trend! Anyway, some more…
Rent:- Today 4 U
- the “real party”
- Charlie’s Nightmare (not a big fan of the movie, but I LOVED this scene)
- Belle flees the castle
- Belle sees the beast for the first time
- the Beast and Gaston’s fight
- Seeing the brachiosaurus for the first time
- Toccata and Fugue
- the Mirror of Erised
- flirting through the fish tank
I know I had more…maybe I should carry another journal around.
Anyway, I should probably go over these scenes some time and time them, to see how many more I can use. And I’m tempted to some day do this with video game scenes too! (oh God Twilight Princess would take up like…most of it XD)
- The eclipse
- Crossing the plains with the electic lights/Eric’s death
- Riddick and Johns’s fight
- Without You
- The Fairy Dance/Gump’s riddle
- San feeds Ashitaka
- Ashitaka talks with Moro
- Ottoko’s death (that’s the boar God, right?)
- Ashitaka holds San after Eboshi loses her arm
- the boy meets Santa
Removing the Spirited Away scene previously listed and more stuff added:
Spirited Away:- Nightfall
Phantom of the Opera: - Overture
- The ballet and the first murder
- The chandeliere (SP?) falls
The Matrix: - The lobby shooting spree
The Incredibles: - 100-Meter Dash
My question of the moment is; do I want to put the scenes from the same movie all in chronological order, or do I want to mix them all up?
- This is Halloween
- What’s This
- Oogie Boogie Man
Legend: - The death of the unicorn
- The dress dance
Lady and the Tramp: - La La Lu (Lady meets the baby)
- Lady in the swinging door
Spiderman: - Costume montage
- Kissing in the rain
Spirited Away: - Haku remembers his name
Whisper of the Heart: - Country Road violin scene
Princess Mononoke: - Ashitaka breaks up the fight with Eboshi and San
Babe: - Golden and True
- “May I call you Mom?”
Edward Scissorhands: - Opening scene
- Dancing in the snow
- The very end
The Neverending Story: - Atreyu sinks in the Swamp of Sadness
- The sphinxes
Star Wars (original trilogy): - Medal ceremony
- Darth Vader’s pyre
Pitch Black: - Opening scene
A long time ago, longer now than it seems—oh sorry, wrong movie.
Anyway, a few years back, I found this meme on Livejournal where it asks you; if you were meeting somebody new, and couldn’t describe yourself in words, list twelve items that you would put in a box for the new person to look at and determine what kind of a person you are.
I loved this idea, and I want to someday modify that; instead of describing what kind of person I am, describing what kind of things I like in movies. I want to make a big montage on a standard 8-hour videotape of my favorite scenes from verious movies, my favorite trailers, etc. Some movies are used more than once. My list is full of Disney scenes, because I’ve been on a Kingdom Hearts kick this past month, but there are others, so just bare with me. So far, here’s what I have:
The first Pocahantus trailer (the one of the whole Colors of the Wind number)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame:
+Opening scene
+Fireplace scene
The Lion King:
+The stampede, all the way through “Run away and never return”
+First encounter with Rafiki; from following Rafiki through the trees to when Simba decides to go back
+The entire encounter with Scar; from when Simba finds his mother to the end of the movie
Beauty and the Beast:
+The Beast’s transformation
The Little Mermaid:
+the party and the storm
+Ariel transforms into a human
+Kiss the Girl
+Ursula seduces Eric
+Ariel gets her voice back
Pinochio:
+Little Wooden Head
Dumbo:
+Dumbo in the bath
+Baby Mine
+Setting up the circus tent
Aladin:
+Escaping the Cave of Wonders
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:
+The house falling apart
Singin’ in the Rain:
+Title number
The Princess Bride:
+Inigo and Wesley’s duel
+“Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya…”
Shrek:
+Confronting the dragon
Titanic:
+The final moments of Titanic
+“Take her to sea, Mr. Murdock”
And by now, I may have forgotten some of what I had in mind, but it’ll come to me, and I’ll blog it :P
