Oh man, I was cruising in my first 5k in about 20 years. I felt great. I hit the first mile split at 6:40. Picked it up a bit and put in a 13 flat for the second mile. I was still felling great. Probably wasnt going to break 19, but I felt great. Then it happened. My left calf popped, literally popped! I was out. I got some help back to the star/finish and my wife and kids carried me back to the car and took me home. I was so depressed. 4 weeks of ice, rest and advil now I am able to put pressure on it and do some short jogs. It will probably be another month or two before I can run on it. Im not giving up, this is just a temporary delay.

Started running again after about 20 years. Plan on racing sept 1, 2007 to get a banchmark of where I am. I have achellies tendonitis and my knees are killing me. Maybe this wasnt such a great idea.
