I visited Edinburgh recently, and the Fringe Festival is definitely another reason to want to live in Scotland.

Once a year I visited Scotland with friends for a competition.
When my long term partner and I split up I really didn’t know what to do with myself so I booked a flight to Edinburgh and when I got to the airport I hired a car and just travelled around booking into B&B’s. I have Scottish ancestory so the first thing I did was head further north to where my mothers family came from in Montrose. I had a lovely time, the solitude and meeting total strangers was great and I realised how much I loved the landscape and something magical just kept drawing me back.
I returned two months later and met up with friends and decided I wanted to move there.I returned home and advertised myself on the internet requiring a job in a castle/ hotel in Central Scotland. Three months later the house was sold and I was offered a job as an event organiser for a hotel. It happened all so quickly, I found a furnished flat the day I went for the interview and 1 week later I moved in. I stayed in Scotland for 18 months and met my fiance there. We live in the south England now but I have terrific memories and given the chance I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and settle down up in bonnie Scotland. I would recomend this to anyone.
Hello. I want to move from America to Scotland. I have never been out of the country in my 41 years of life. I am looking for a town in Scotland with friendly people who enjoy the simple way of life. Please recommend a place for me. Thanks.

I love Scotland with all of my heart and I so dearly want to live in Scotland, not forever because I want to travel but long enough that I can create a family of friends, so that where ever I go in the world I may always come home to Scotland.

I’ve only been there twice, but it’s so great. I love the weather especially; I could get so pale there!

I spent my first 3 years in Edinburgh and I’ve visted many times since. It’s a heavenly place to be.
moved to aberdeen for a few weeks, mixed results, cold weather, whichs good n bad, right on the coast @ aberdeen, so the waters there, fresh air as well, but also people dont seem as friendly on the coast here as they once did in a previous visit, n there’s alot of problems with immangrant groups coming in and feelign isolated and depressed and stuff, you’d walk down the street n every club was full of white people and then every kebab shop was full of indians, didnt like how the indians were keepin to themselves
but otherwise there are alot of friendly people here, and its definately not a bad place, although i surmise i’d find more friendly people in a smaller town up north perhaps, and more creativety to the west likely
