3 finished bedrooms, an almorst finished bathroom and a building site.
Trying to do everything ourselves which takes time especially with us both working full time.
Starting from the top and working our way down.
Currently stripping the wallpaper in the upstairs hallway. Horrified to find the ceiling is wallpapered as well and underneath there is dark turquoise paint :(

in my bathroom! The plaster is on the walls & the ceiling is done. As soon as it dries I can paint it. Then I can do the floor (once the plumber has sorted out the leak that won’t go away) and then…. and THEN….. after three long years my bathroom will be DONE.
with the bathroom. Aaaaarghhh. Leaks. Fittings that don’t fit properly. Electrics. Plastering. The floor – can’t find anything I really like. Someone please put me out of my misery.
Bathroom is at least getting done. I can now have a bath. There are even some tiles up! Roll your eyes, but 3 weeks ago I was throwing buckets of water over my poor shivering children on the patio!! The BIG LEAK (oh yes, it went badly wrong) caused much damage to the study ceiling which is newly built and not even decorated yet! If there’s one thing I’ve learned its that a stitch in time saves 9 (or £600! to be more precise).
But at least I took one step last week and will take another soon! So exhausted. Everytime I try to do something, he stops me. Nor can I get him to do any of the things I’ve asked him to do. Does everything HAVE TO be an uphill battle?

I’d love to get all the little jobs done – stuff like painting the doors, buying new carpets, tiling the bathroom etc. But we’re so worn out all the time that any free time we have we’re off to the pub or go for a drive – anything to get out the house! But its really demotivating living in the chaos. There’s nowhere to put anything and that drives me crazy.
