learn to speak Tagalog

i need to learn tagalog before i move to Philippines

its been something i’ve wanted to do for quite some time now..

and I really want to learn Tagalog or Visayan before I return to PI again…
It would make communicating with my Aunts and Uncles a WHOLE LOT EASIER…

and it would make my mom giggle and be proud.

I’ve been hanging out with people who speak Tagalog fluently. So I’m hearing it more. I’m getting a bit annoyed though because when we’re all together they talk in tagalog, but when it’s like one on one with me or something. they talk in English. So that’s annoyingg kinda, but I guess it might be a little wierd to them, so it’s okay. As long as thier comfortable or whatever.

So i was on aim and i was chatting with my best friend, who isnt filipino or know any tagalog at all. We were just chatting, and I decided I would anwser his “how was yer day” in Tagalog. I tried. and it wasnt so bad. and i felt more comfortable because i knew he wouldnt understand and make me feel stupid fer being wrong, er saying something wierd. I wrote about 3 sent. probably. but then i had to explain myself in english…

Went to the philippines this spring to meet my husbands family, and even though every one speaks english I would love to understand it just so I know they are not talking about me!!!! ha!

Let’s face it – no one wants to teach me, and all the Filipino people speak English anyway… I have better things to do…

ive heard evry1 around my house speaking tagalog all my life. My problemo is i can understand it fairly well, but i do not know how to form sentences…ai..grabe… ang sakit ng ulo ko!

I learned tagalog after living there with my husband from 1960-1967.
