Growing up I was raised by a vegetarian dad. I never got sick while all the other kids did. When I moved out on my own, I started eating crappy food and I was getting sick and always feeling tired. At 25, I went back to eating vegetarian again. I felt better in a week!! Anyway, I am 31 now and I am always harrasing people about what they put into their bodies. My biggest pet peeve is when people complain they are sick while puffing away on a cigarette and drinking a beer!! lol
I feel I would make a great nutritionist, but I don’t know where to get started. Any ideas? I am in NJ

This is a subject I’ve read about as a hobby and have talked about to people to the point THEY are the one that have pointed it out to me that I should do it professionally. I like the idea of not so much teaching people but getting them to understand all that goes into their body affects how they live. Maybe I should pursue a career in Nutrition, if not I would still love to keep it as a hobby to better my own health and teach my children how to eat better.
To enable me to successfully complete this goal I need to get a degree if I want to be fully qualified. I have added going to university as a seperate goal as it is so huge for me and something I need to do if I want this.
Since school I have always had a keen interest in nutrition, who only knows why it has taken me 10 years to figure out I would like a career in it! I’m still contemplating my options about going to uni, so watch this space!
i want to take nutrition courses mostly because it really interests me and i think it would be a nice side job [im a hairdresser 3 days a week] but the cost would really kill me, becoming a dietician [ie 4 year college] will never happen in my lifetime, dont have the money. in nj we have a very good nutritionist course, but its $3000 and is on sundays, one of my busiest work days, so id be spending money and losing money. and then there is one online “the academy of natural living” that victoria’s secret model Miranda Kerr attended, but its $8800!! a correspondance course for $8800!!. so im at a loss for what to do.

At the moment i am in the process of becoming one and i really want to help teenagers and kids with nutrition. i think its a big deal. i think others should take that in consideration too.
Compulsion is questioning
I’m always cooking and feeding people and trying to get everyone I know to eat and live healthier.

Seeing as I can’t afford to go out of town to the nearest college for this I’m utterly depressed. I have to give this up unless I can somehow budget this going to an out of town college idea.
I’ve wanted to do this since i was a kiddie. Hopefully, i will go to NY University, study nutrition and become a Nutritionist/Dietician for kids/teens.
