I got the idea for this goal from yet another movie, “The Bucket List”. The 2 main characters fulfill their common bucket list and find joy in life in the face of death. It inspired me to create my own bucket list on this website. One of the more compelling items on their bucket list was to help a complete stranger. I might be able to achieve this goal through other things I’ve already listed, but thought it should stand alone as a separate item.
How to help a complete stranger
How I did it: I volunteered with a local police station to hand out gift boxes and hams to needy people in low income housing projects. Everyone was so thankful for the food, and we even got hugs from some people. Unfortunately, the meals we provided will probably be the nicest they get all year, but it felt good to know I could pass along some Christmas cheer to someone much less fortunate than myself. I have been blessed with so much, and I appreciate what I have more now because of this experience. I hope to participate again next year so I can help more complete strangers enjoy a nice meal on Christmas.
