Saturday I made roasted red pepper hummus, Tabbouleh, and tahini sauce. We ate this with pita and frozen falafel I got at the Lebanese market.
I felt like a rock star! The hummus and Tabbouleh were easily as good (if not better) than from our favorite restaurant. I made the tahini sauce without much planning at the last minute after Science Boy asked if we had any. He is a bigger fan of it than I am, but he is also a very picky eater – he loved it!
I need to get a food processor to make all the chopping easier. (I made the hummus in a blender – I suspect a f.p. would be better for that, too.)
Now to figure out what i am making next…

My boyfriend, Science Boy, and I don’t know a lot about ethnic cuisine. However, we do know that our favorite takeout place is Lebanese. I like to cook, so I would like to learn more about Lebanese food and how to make at least a few simple dishes.
First step? Check some books out of the library!

Yesterday, I made some Hoummous and lebanese style taboule. The taboule was as I wanted it to be but I have to admit that the store-bought hoummous is better than mine :(
I’ll try to find better ingredients and try again the hoummous :)
