I used to go to a Yoga class once and week and usually used to do some kind of practice in the week too, though maybe not for a full hour and a half session. Then I got really passionate about Yoga and atarted going to another class, doing two a week and some practice. Then I moved and couldn’t afford to do a class locally (I was getting them free before as a student) and didn’t really have much time or energy either. Because it’s been so long since I did Yoga properly I feel like my alignment has got really rusty and just have that feeling of not doing things quite right. I definitely need to go to a class so the aim is to start that up when I join the gym at Uni, since classes come free. Until then I’ve added the daily stretching goal so at least I’m not losing flexibility.

Well I finally started again! Last week my best friend and I tried out a class at my local sports centre, which I really enjoyed, and it was reeeally nice doing it with my best friend, whom I could never persuade to try it at college. However, I’m not confident enough to go there by myself yet – all the other people are much, much older than me and it is a little daunting. So I missed this week, because my friend had work, and I’ll miss the next one because I’m away.
However, when I’m back you can bet I’ll be out on that mat again. It really is just as good as I remember, and I quite like the teacher. So yay.
However, I won’t ‘finish’ this task till my original goal of a month’s worth of classes is completed. So further bulletins as events warrant :)

As a Christian of course I don’t practice the “spiritual” side of yoga. I had done yoga for a while a few years ago and in a short time got pretty good at it. I did enjoy it.
Then I had a year long bout with Sciatica. Pain daily beyond belief.
I will do this goal for a month. Practice yoga daily even though my flare up with Sciatic has been around for a few months. Praise the Lord it is nothing compared to what it was like a few years ago!!!
I will let my body tell me what poses and the time each day I will spend doing yoga daily.

lia is the shittiest wife ever.
I’m buying the DVDs of Namaste Yoga with Kate Potter. I had it on my TiVo back in Oklahoma but when I moved to Cali I got DishNetwork and they don’t have FitTV… Nooo! So now I shall buy the DVDs and all will be well again.

I’ve gotten back on track for the past week doing a.m. sun salutes, though I can’t include lunges because of the knee. The back is still bothering me but I am gentle with it.
I am going to need to move this goal to the accomplished area soon, and raise the bar on myself. I’d like to challenge myself to take a daily walk or bike ride, and to deepen my yoga practice by getting back into a yoga class or doing a regular, full routine at home.

back on Thurs p.m., then fest, then the Amazing Inflatable Knee. I have been good about doing back exercises. I need (kneed) my pain-free book back to find the knee exercises. oh well, RICE (except I keep forgetting about C) has been helping a lot. The AIK has not hampered me much this week. See goal #1.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, WEdnesday, Thursday, Friday I did sun salutes (plus bicycling and sit-ups or leg lifts for good measure). Saturday I was too hungover to even think about physical exercise when I got up!
Bringing it home report: we got home last night and I did manage to jump up this a.m. and do the sun salutes.
It’s time to raise the stakes on this goal I think. More yoga, more more more!
