when you are able to take it apart and reassemble it with ease, then you are no longer constrained by the boundaries of its form. When you know the nature of a thing, you can remake it to whatever you wish. 10 months ago
A married couple I was friends with in Germany are buying a bookstore in Paris. A few months ago, he quit his job which was pretty awful and they up and moved to Paris with no prospects whatsoever. Yesterday they announced they’re buy a home and business. I’m excited for them, but it leaves me wondering what I’m actually doing with my life… 11 months ago
How I did it: I wanted to find out my element based on astrology and name. The astrology one is easy. Just go on any zodiac website. The name one is more difficult:
... amazing
... worth it
... intelligent
... capable of anything
... becoming who I potential am
... so much more than can be said here
Who are you? 14 months ago
I may have just found my element… Today in the pool (yes, apparently the pool is very good for thinking), I worked on a strategy to help empower women on issues of birth control. The recent US news on birth control, abortion and Planned Parenthood has really upset me. Men deciding how women maintain and care for their bodies… hrumph. I feel a lot of anger when I hear this; moreover, I want to do something about it.
Since reading The Switch, I’ve been trying to figure out a way to alter the American consciousness (Rider/Elephant/Path) to support women’s right to birth control and quit treating Planned Parenthood as a pariah. Tonight I think I hit on it. In 2 parts: Help men to see they have a duty as fathers, husbands and lovers to take care of their women. Change the definition of pro-choice from equaling abortion support to having choices which mean not having to choose abortion.
It’s a rough draft now, but ideas are churning. 14 months ago
