Be convinced that God exists

I am convinced that the Christian God exists, and to solidify my faith, I opened my heart up to Jesus this year on March 16th – it is so worth it! Guys, I know everyones spiritual journey is so much different than everyone else’s, but please let me know if I could point anyone in a good direction! Theres nothing like having an encounter with God!

I came to the conclusion through many discussions on the internet that if I asked Jesus Christ to come into my life and be my Lord and Savior with as much sincerity (faith) as I had, then that was good enough for God.

Faith and the will are totally connected. When you choose to believe God’s word you are exercising faith. As you read the Bible and believe what is written, your faith is being built.

For me, the issue was whether life has a perfect truth underlying it or not. If you think a perfect truth can and does exist and that your free will exists to make choices of doing what is perfectly true (thus good) or to choose to submit to false and evil temptations, then you are halfway home to understanding that this world can become perfected by eradication of evil by your own choice to do God’s will.

Miracles happen all the time. Some only see coincidences. Only after I chose to force my own eyes open did I begin to see God’s fingerprints on everything.

We never see the miracles that are heading our way, but we do need to have our eyes open so they don’t pass us by.

Feel free to read my cry for help that I posted to alt.suicide.holiday – I wanted to believe but couldn’t figure out how to flip the switch, so to speak. I bet there are a lot of people who feel the way I felt.

In my new blog, Out of the Ground you can see that I began posting with some struggles with faith, prayer, etc and I did my best to post how those struggles were resolved for me. I am not a totally disciplined blogger, but hey, I am trying.

I can’t be convinced. I give up my search for this so called god.

Today I was hungry and my strict budget said I would not be eating lunch today and would have to wait for dinner. Sadly I had forgotten my lunch at home.

Amazingly, someone mentioned that an abundance of pizza is available, left over from a meeting in the meeting room. I however didn’t want to go snooping around in a meeting room for leftovers so I made a glass of hot chocolate instead to get over being hungry. A few hours later, the hunger returned.

Fortunately, the guy who sits in the cubicle caddiecorner to me mentioned there were free sandwiches in the break area today that must have been left over from another meeting.

I had a sandwich.

It so strange that all of this food has been made available today. It has been months since I last heard of food just being left over from a meeting. Sadly at first I thought what a great coincidence that I’m hungry and there is food.

I am working on seeing God in the little things directly impacting my life since I have such a hard time seeing his will in the things going on in the world.

I honestly thanked God for my meal today for the first time in my life. Funny how such little things can have such a profound impact on us.

Your life WILL be changed…God is not scary, weird, freaky, bizarre, or hypocritical. Sometimes man makes up his own beliefs and rules to represent God in ways that push people away. Although some people make it that way…..God is simple and easy. He is only about love. If you are asking yourself, but how do I get to know him?.....That is simple too…you just ask him to forgive you of all your sins (which, by the way he will do, as soon as you ask), then ask him to come into your life and help you to live the life that you were made to live. Now, think about him often, talk to him all the time, when you’re driving, when you’re getting ready for work/school, like you would to yourself!, ask him to help you with things (the way he would want things to be!)...and look for the results, but most importantly, listen to him…he speaks in your heart…you will know it’s him!
