AwakenMe is taking things one step at a time
I have recently gotten slowly into dancing, and fitness moves that go with it. I have a ballet dvd for example and I love it (Always wanted to take Ballet but was never allowed to due to lack of finances growing up). Anyway, I mainly have two problems. 1) I lack a good range of flexibility..especially around my knees, and 2) it could be partly cause I am on the heavier side. Anyway, I’d like to work on this, especially since I am considering taking Adult Ballet classes once I reach my goal weight :D

I’ve been doing the occasional yoga class, and I want to start practicing at home more. I love meditation, and the strength building power of yoga, but ultimatly I would like to become more flexible.
So more yoga and stretching here I come :)

Am doing well am noticing a little improvment everytime I streach which is really rewarding
i had and interesting conversation with my musclar skeltal specialist about what will happen to my body if I dont streach in terms of aging which was some good motivation too!

This goal I have let fall way-side a little bit, but I am always streaching at the gym – I have started to notice some big improvements, like my knees nearly touching the ground in my groin streach, and being able to bend over and touch the ground (big achievement for me) – ultimately with this goal I would like to be able to – Put hands flat on the floor
- Knees to ground
- Do the splits in both directions
- put my hands on my feet and lie my body down my leg
(They all sound a bit confusing but I know what I mean!

I haven’t stretched for a while it seems. I don’t know why, I think I just haven’t made time for it. But the other day I did just to see if I’ve lost what flexibility I’ve gained, and I haven’t . I heard falling behind a week can put you back at square one. Glad it didn’t, but I suppose I just need to set a specific time to do this so I don’t stop. Maybe that’ll be my next step, just setting a time, and doing it. Not focusing on what I’ve missed. Hmm…

So I want to be more flexible, but I’m at a loss. I’ve picked up a few books and I’ve started to read around. I’m going to start stretching a few times a day, and doing small exercises to iprove flexibility. We’ll see what’s going on by next week.
Flexibility: Well…I can touch my toes, despite fairly long legs.
