I love the idea of this, I’ve always wanted a library with a spiral staircase right in the middle with a huge wooden desk filled with blank pages just waiting to be inked.

How to have a library in my house

How I did it: I started spending the "changes" of my salary with used books, until the day I found a website on the net with a lots of used books in great conditions for impressive prices, then I started buying books and here I am: I have my own libray in my own room! The shelves of it are already full of books, and I have more books all around my bedroom... it's almost a mess. I just wish I had time to read them all... Lessons & tips: Books are our best friends. I do believe in it and that's why I invest on it every month. |

How I did it: We own alot of books so in the plans for the new house we dicided one room would be the library, we got it made by local craftsmen, who have since informed me that they built it with a 'they're never going to fill all these shelves' theory...wrong, we have to many books.:) Read how I did it…

I’m slowly putting a list of all my books online. I’m optimistic that this will help me next year, when I’ll have to sell a chunk of my library. So far, pretty slow, but so good.

That would be wonderful! I love the look of built in bookcases, but a whole room would be amazing. With a walkway on the second level and a sliding ladder. I think I’ve seen in-home libraries like that in movies and I can’t get the idea out of my head.

- comprar los libros que quiero leer,y mantener en uso los que están, par ano tener que regalarlos por si la mara se harta de tener tanto libro en la casa.
- Clasificarlos y ordenarlso por tema y por categoría =) hay un montón para niños.

It will have one of those ladders that wheels along the front of the bookcase (Ikea sells them!!) and all the books that mean something to me

I had a library of over 1,000 books! They were all arranged (most were textbooks I’d gathered, because I wanted to start a school).
It was very much worth it until I had to pack them all and move! Unless you have someone to take care of them, a place to donate them to, you are old enough to have them in a more static place, or it is a collective effort, it is a space/time liability.
But it was very nice to have for a while.

...will be floor to ceiling book shelves, except for the gap for the windown overlooking the garden and the fireplace. It will have to have at least one spooky taxidermied animal (ideally an morepork) lurking in a corner, and the badly damaged art deco leather sofa and chairs that have lived in the shed for the last 3 years which my husband will have fixed up finally by then. I will never dust it and it will be perfect!
