TODAY I GOT the canvas!! Yeah! Now I just need some inspiration.
How I did it: every week I would go to the garden and paint the sculptures and the flowers and anything else in site.It was cool to see the progression of my work throughout a whole semester. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I first started painting again (I say again because I haven't painted since I was 13 at school) about 2 months ago. I created an experiment with tones and textures. Then last weekend, I stopped in at a gallery. Unfortunately I'd missed the exhibition I wanted to see, but they had something equally intriguing. When i enquired about the last exhibit they showed me the photos on their website and told me they still had one piece left, which … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I wanted to paint a picture for my boyfriend, specifically flowers. So we were looking for flowers and finally picked out some Irises.I started by painting the grass, then the outline of the petals, then filled everything in.It took me about three weeks altogether, with lots of patience and good lighting. First: I must aquire some paints and canvas.
Needs to be big, but not great. Looking for something decorative, so it doesn’t need to have a world-changing message except, “I did it.”
Azumel is a Self-Knowing Healthy Extrovert? Who knew?
By paint a picture I guess I mean something that I wouldn’t be embarrased to show somebody else, not just slop something together.

So my first painting only needs a coat of gloss over the top of it now to finish it off and make it look all shiny to give the effect I want.
My second canvas, I’m not so happy with and I’m considering painting over it since I’m not happy with the colours. The final blank canvas remains in its packaging until I’m inspired enough as to what was meant to be on it. It’ll come to me, probably at some random point.
I want to paint a picture to hang in my library. I saw an abstract hanging in my building foyer and I fell in love with it. I asked how much and was told $1200. Hmmmmmmmmmm, I know i can paint one- even better. It is actually buying the supplies etc….I am a procrastinator

So on Friday night I was watching Heroe’s and I saw some artwork in the show. Very simply colour blocks placed next to each other and I thought I could do that (as I’ve said about many other pieces I’ve seen before). Then on Saturday morning a woke up with a whole free weekend with nothing to do and I thought, I’m gonna do it, I’m gonna paint a picture. So I went down to the art store, bought three canvases, a set of brushes and a set of acrylic paints. Having never painted anything in a creative sense since school, I’ve forgotten just how much fun it is!
I started my first painting which is inspired by the colour block I saw on TV but I’ve improvised and introduced lots of textures to it and so I’m slowly building up all these layers of texture and slapping on more paint. Only thing is that I can only do one layer a day so its gonna take a while.
Once I’d left the first layer to dry I got bored and so drove to Bergamont Station in Santa Monica, California’s largest art gallery complex and took a look around just a few of the galleries and came away with lots more inspiration so now I have my second concept in my head and I begun that one today.
Mean while, I’ve now decided I want to paint so swirly leafy patterns on rolls of paper and hang them on some of my walls like wallpaper.
I don’t know what’s going on but suddenly I’ve become all creative and I love it! Do something new today, you might just suprise yourself!
