GRML, or General Reuse Markup Language, is a data and web format. This allows it to be used by destop and web-based applications, which read the format.
While HTML is a presentation or display-oriented format, GRML is an analysis or data-oriented format. GRML is similar to XML, since both are data-oriented formats. However, the syntax for GRML is much simpler than XML. Also, XML focuses on generic object-oriented and hierarchical organization, GRML relies on what is called a flat format.
Current GRML software includes Pioneer Report MDI, Bar Graph MDI, and the soon-to-released Frontier. Pioneer Report MDI is used for data-entry and analysis. Bar Graph creates graphs from GRML data. Frontier creates GRML documents and data.
