i always wish i could donate more...  — 8 months ago

    Worth doing!

But i do what i can. A few years back, i had an “auto-donate” of $7/mo on my credit card. And from time to time, i’ll just send a random $20 in (i save the envelopes from misc reeequests, for when i can send something)

After i’d gotten the “Big” job this year, i pledged again during the fund-drive for a $10/mo. I’m glad i did before i lost that job—i’d have probably felt too $$-shaky to do so now. And really, i dont miss the ten…

Here’s hoping i can make Really big pledges in 2008!

Jen is motivated again. (Thanks, Trent!)

No more guilt. :)  — 1 year ago

    Worth doing!

I’m giving up some of my CD/book money to make small pledges to the four shows I regularly listen to on my favorite station.

I like to think of it as a “finder’s fee,” since I’ve discovered so many great underground (and not so underground) bands through them. It’s also a way to say thank you for playing my requests.

Now, whenever I ask to hear a band or song, I can make that request without an ounce of guilt. I plan to donate every three months during pledge drive.

I did this a few months ago, during a pledge drive. I don’t feel that nagging guilt listening anymore :-)

    KEXP 90.3  — 2 years ago

    Worth doing!

KEXP is my favorite radio station. I’ve donated a few hundred bucks and several hours of my time – because they’re worth it, and because I want to keep good radio available to people worldwide.

    Worth doing!

Both me and my brother have donated to this station and it’s paid off in spades in terms of CDs and concert ticket giveaways. The biggest of these was Coachella 2002, which was really amazing. I’m not in Southern California right now, but I still listen to the occasional webcast of Morning Becomes Eclectic hosted by Nic Harcourt. Definitely worth checking out…

After 15 years of listening for free!  — 3 years ago

    Worth doing!

They gave me a dvd, a 2-cd set, a year-subscription to Newsweek, and a membership card that has 200 2 for 1 offers. And now I’m a legitimate public radio listener! I had no idea that they were going to adorn me with so many gifts for my meager one.
