Worth doing!

I watched YouTube most of the time. I was house sitting and there wasn’t any cable. It’s all good!

Since there’s no cable on the tv here anyway, I’m spending most of my time on the computer.

Great decision. I still have cable for internet, but no TV.

Not worth it!

I love my cable and having spent the first 13 years of my life without it, I’ll find it quite hard getting rid of it. Although before I had the Internet and cable I did get more accomplished, but then again, I was a child then.

With only 2.5 channels, it’s amazing how much TV we still watch. But now, at least, other things around the house get done as well! ;)

Just do it, it’s simple, call the cable company NOW and put in an order for disconnect.

Don’t be a slave to the box!

Worth doing!

I watch more TV than I’d like, to be honest, but I haven’t had cable in almost four years.

I had cable until I reached a sudden financial crisis and had to decide between having a home and having cable TV. There wasn’t any point in having cable if I didn’t have a home to watch it in, so rent trumped the cable bill.

I’m still in recovery from said crisis, but I don’t miss cable that much at all. The shows I enjoy are network shows, and the only problem is that I have really terrible television reception, so when I watch “Lost” I have trouble reading subtitles on my screen or telling what’s going on in night scenes and stuff like that… but the DVD age has solved that problem. Actually, I don’t see the point in paying $50-$100 a month for cable when I can use my Netflix account to watch the TV shows I like.

you wouldnt think not having cable would be a good experience after growing up with every channel imaginable. But, my son learned to love movies, and good books, and i spent less time watching tv, sense of course, all we had with our antenna was 2,5, and sometimes 8, So now that we have satellite, i hardly ever watch tv, and would actually prefer to watch movies, the same ones, over and over again. My daughter isnt old enough to understand the difference, but i think ill probably have our satellite cut back off, where i can instill in her, a love of reading.

It’s easy to live without cable access, and I really prefer it that way, though this is not necessarily a black & white (no pun intended) issue. When I was a single parent with two small children, I had cable some of the time so that appropriate children’s programs were available, mostly on PBS channels. Even though I feel, for the most part, that sitting in front of the TV after work in the evening is a waste of time, I do enjoy movies and sometimes appropriate comedy. After all, laughter is good for the soul and the body.

And we only have one TV. And the One computer that has the internet set up is in a room I can monitor the kids on. It just make it so much easier to monitor what they watch. We do go a little nuts in hotels or other peoples houses, but it is more of a treat.
