I’m making an afghan for my sister for Christmas. I’ve just finished off the 4th skein of yarn and need more yarn and am begging to wonder if it will be done in time.

I might need to actually GET the afghan from my parents’ house. That just might help.
I started that afghan almost two years ago, and I’ve learned a lot about crochet since then. Looking back, I can see that it is pretty ugly (i.e., it has a boring pattern and the sides are really uneven). I’ve had this goal up since I joined 43Things, and I haven’t made any progress on it whatsoever, so I’m calling it quits.
I just turned 25, so it’s been a while since I was in 4-H, and I actually think I started it a couple years before I actually exhibited it (I took it as a twin size, so I could call it complete, but I would like to make it full size). I did it in alternating rows of blue and purple. I have three shades of each color and just pick one at random. Unfortunately, I also have upteen million quilts waiting to get done, so this isn’t real high on the list.

I’ve been crocheting for about 2 years, and I’ve finished 3 afghans! They take a lot of time, but when they’re done, they are so beautiful. One extra large afghan, one medium, and a baby afghan. And there was that one that I put together using my aunt’s squares, so I guess that counts too, lol.
I started to crochet this for my husband’s 40th birthday, he’s about to turn 44. I moved and the colors don’t even match my living room anymore. But I am going to finish it! Now, where did I leave off???

It’s done, now I just need to find a place to keep it!

I made up the pattern myself to use up a bunch of yarn I had lying around the house. So really, it will be done when I say it’s done. When I finish this row I”m gonna check to see if it’s a good size…if so, I’m done!

I started it in January, and it’s done. The afghan of many colors, inspired by a $200 kit I saw at the Quarter Stitch, is completed.
Of course, it’s 80-something degrees outside, so I won’t be using it just yet…
