I dreamt the other day that I was running from someone and I hoped into a random car. It was standard, but I was a BAMF and could control it like no other! I thought it was funny when I woke up the next morning especially because I still struggling getting into 1st. Haha

I think I can say that I have done this. i could comfortably get into a standard and drive!
yay me!
My Dad tried to teach me how to drive standard once but quit because I ground the gears on his old car. Now I want to learn because my dream car is a standard (a Karman Ghia).
I started learning and could probably drive in an emergency…. still need a little work
It’s kind of fun. Can be convenient when you least expect it. It’s a whole new experience. Many think that you are not truly getting the full driving experience until you do it with a stick shift. It’s pretty easy to learn and you get this feeling of accomplishment when you’re done.
I think it’s time. After years of watching other people do it, I am really to take the leap. Besides, I have had my license since I was sixteen, so it is a bit embarassing to say: “I don’t know how to drive that car.”
so the next car I buy can be standard. those are way more fun. i know how to drive standard, i’ve just only done it 2 or 3 times. i need practice.
I finally drove on city streets, and I didn’t stall except for twice when I was coming to a stop in the parking lot. I almost wet myself when I missed getting caught speeding through a parking lot by a cop by about ten seconds, and when I accidentally shifted into first instead of third (luckily I was nearing a stoplight, so I just threw in the clutch and waited out the stop), but other than that it was good. The shaking has subsided, at least. I may not be an expert, but I’m now at the point where I just need practice, practice, practice.
I keep learning how, and getting okay at it, but then not practicing. I’ve still never felt confident enough to drive in traffic, because I’m afraid of the wrath of angry drivers who don’t want to wait for me to start my car again after I’ve stalled out at the third light in a row. I need to do this before I buy a car of my own, which may or may not be happening in the near future.
