i started reading this late february but hadn’t had time to finish it because of exams at school. It’s now june and i have almost finsihed it.
Because the characters have been in my life for so long i actually think i wil miss them because i have gotten to know them in a way. It’s like everyday i say ‘oh i’ll just see what prince bolkonsky is doing’ like the characters are friends!!!
I will miss it.
I love the philosphical parts and also all the posh soirees! The military parts i didnt enjoy as much and i never thought i could learn so much about that war.
It just shows how much we can learn and how much there is to learn and how we will never ever be even close enough to knowing it all.

I read it already while I was in Russia this summer, and it was utterly amazing. Unfortunately, this time around I’m doing it for a class, so it’s not as pleasant an experience. But definitely worth doing.

Sometimes I wish that I had the option of saying undecided instead of worth doing(!) or not worth it. I’m always reaching for the middle, and I’ve been sitting on the fence a long time. I am grateful to have finished reading War And Peace, its such an accomplishment for me to read so many pages! The Epilogue Part II was my favorite part as it deals with philosophy behind the whole novel and I was excited to be reaching an end. I didn’t necessarily enjoy details about military movements and I am much more knowledgeable of the war of 1812 then I ever cared to be. I enjoyed the characters Pierre and Natasha.
