I bought a car. TOok about two months before I got the license plates, registration and the insurance on it. But I did it.
I was the proud owner of a 1996 Black Honda Civic Coupe DX coupe. But driving down the street, the car suddenly jerked. Next thing I know I swerved, hit a curb, then a tree. My car is totaled. My insurance didn’t have collision coverage, so I’ve got nothing.
In this particular case, I’d say it’s not worth it. I put myself through undue stress to get it, and now it’s gone. I don’t have any money to get prepared for university with (clothes, laptop, pens/pencils etc.) Doomed.

I have a license and everything, but no insurance. And no car. I need to get insurance!! And I need to get a car! Either that or move to a place where cars aren’t needed.

Ok, I’m cheating…this is actually two things: driving and having my own car. I took lessons a couple of years ago but, as any good driver will tell you, you have to practice! And that I never got to do, at least not regularly. I would drive on occasion, when H would let me practice. He’s the only one (apart from a driving instructor—who gets paid to do his job) who’s patient enough with me, and he’s the only one I’m comfortable with when it comes to driving.
It’s hard because I’m not compelled to learn since we have a driver and all…but I think there will come a time when I am going to have to drive myself around. Can’t exactly expect my future husband to be there all the time for me.
The “owning my own car” bit will have to come later….
