I have got to lose some weight by Feb. I committed to a soccer tournament in Feb in a HOT climate and I need to shed some punds so I don’t die. Also, I’ve used every excuse in the book and now it’s time for me to rely on complete strangers to help me do what I can’t do on my own. I realize I can’t los 35 by Feb, but even 20 would be super! I’m at 185 this morning. Can we lose it? YES WE CAN!!!
How to lose 35 pounds
How I did it: I followed the advice of Dr. Paul McKenna on food: eating only when I'm hungry, stopping the minute I feel slightly full, eating what I want, eating slowly.
I also took to a variety of daily exercise (cardio, weighlifting, spinning class), and always drinking lots of water.
Lessons & tips: Take it one day at a time, do the things I put in the "How did you do it" box. Be kind to yourself when you stumble, cheer yourself as you progress.
Resources: Dr. Paul McKenna, YMCA

187lbs. I’ve been adjusting my habits slightly up until now, but I’m ready to keep tabs on it and be consistent.

I bought some new jeans and a couple cute tops yesterday. While I am not at my goal yet – this morning was the first time in a LONG time that I caught my reflection in a store window and didn’t HATE the view of myself from the side. I’m always good at picking clothes that create a good sillouette from the front – but there’s no hiding the tum from the side. Today, in my new jeans and top, it looks flatter, and smaller – it’s a good day :D

I’ve lost 29 lbs since March of this year. I am so close to the 35 lb goal, I can taste it. I am down from a size 22 at my largest (2 yrs ago) to a size 16 and my ultimate goal is a size 12. I just want to be able to shop at regular stores, and have a healthier body. :D
I walk my dogs nearly every day for 25 min minimum. This week we drove to the beach and walked for over an hour (the sand was pretty packed, but it was still tougher than on pavement) and I also took the dogs to Weir Hill (a forest preserve here) – which FELT like Weir MOUNTAIN but after I was done I felt great (it took about 90 min to do the whole trail around the pond).
I am eating far fewer calories than I used to, eating out much less, and am being more aware of how much sodium I am taking in. I probably average 1500 cals a day – 1700 on my bad days, 1200 on my great ones. I am eating a ton more fruit and trying to stay away from sweets and chips (sooo hard!)
You can see from this picture – taken around the time of my sister’s wedding 2 autumns ago (when I was very large) how much smaller I am now (in my default profile pic)
ratshaverights okay!
Im down to 170! :)
Starting weight: 199
Current weight: 170
I seemed to have hit a plateau. Plus there have been too many outings this summer. Was with some friends last weekend, drank too much, ate a lot, gained 2 pounds, lost one so far. 24 pounds to go, the goal seems a long way off, but I am keeping the faith.

Well, I have started going to the gym every weekday, and although I haven’t lost any weight yet, I have definitely switched some fat for muscle. I have 41 days left to be in good enough physical shape for the military, or they’ll send my sorry ass right back home. I have tried too hard for too long… to risk losing my chance at being in the military because I’m not in shape. I need to be able to do 9 push-ups, 19 sit-ups, and I need to be able to run 2.4km… in less than 15 minutes. I couldn’t run that far, period.. :| I can only do 3 push-ups (last week it was zero, so I am making progress). I am good for the sit-ups though. I could do sit-ups until tomorrow. My abs seems to still be in pretty good shape. You’d never be able to tell, though, with the disgusting layer of fat covering them up.
So anyway, if I can get in good enough shape for the military, then the military lifestyle will most certainly help me to accomplish this goal.
