Argh! While trying to tune the thing, one of the strings broke on me. So now I have to get it tuned by a pro and fixed before I can try to learn it.

Got my new violin via mail the other day. It is gorgeous! I am absolutely in love with it! I have wanted to learn to play since I was younger (my dream was to play in an orchestra for a living) so I decided to just give it my best shot and I can say at least I tried if it doesn’t work out. It feels so natural for me though and I can already play some notes without it ripping your ears out. I play around with it alot. It is hard to know where the frets are though, but I ordered this thing that goes on it under the strings to show you where to put your fingers. It looks like it will be alot of help. My violin is my new love and I am determined to play at least one song on it before I die.
as a child, i learned to play the piano, but i have always wanted to play violin as well. i am thinking i would like to find a nice violin, now that i am a grandma, and learn to play before i get toooo old or kick the bucket. haha

I finally have a violin!!! I am so excited. This will be the third new instrument I’ve started learning this year!! I think I might be getting a little carried away…

was presented with violin for birthday! :D
..are now underway. Once a week I go to a community college class and learn to play!
I can play, sort of, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Now”. As well as “Ode to Joy” ‘cause that’s easy and the same key.
Yes, it STILL sounds like I’m torturing my cat (which I don’t have) but at least the bridge mute works!
I LOVE my violin.
I have always wanted to play the violin, but I happened to get a pair of turntables instead- but it’s never too late…

breaking it down…
baseline: no violin!
benchmark 1: procure violin, tabs, course material
benchmark 2: write the rest of benchmarks.
this one is not as high a priority as others, plus it will just take longer anyway, but I don’t want to forget it, so I’m encouraging myself to do some little steps here
