...with all the works, because there isn’t a music store i can walk to that sells that stuff. (rosin, strings, etc…) I’ve been looking on ebay for something cheap but good.
I’ve wanted to learn to play violin since forever. but music is so hard to me, i suck. I had guitar lessons for a while, but…yeah i didn’t keep up with those because guitar didn’t get my passion going.
i have this tangible urge, need to play the violin. i’ve never held one, and i’ve always itched to. i need to play.
hahaha, i can see me bustin out a random bit of fiddling when it gets awkardly silent amoungst my friends. “DANCE, BITCHES!!!”
i need to play. NEED, not want.
any advice, besides “get yourself a violin!” ?

I started lessons last year and was progressing and more importantly practicing. I then moved back to my mam’s and gave it up for the sake of their ears. Now i say “screw there ears, I’m gonna play”. The goal is to learn long long ago from Suzuki book 1 by Sunday, to a standard where its nice to listen to…will probably take a lot of reverb though!

I received my first violin today. I was a little confused about it because when I moved the bow over the strings, nothing really happened; it didn’t make the traditional, majestic sound that is supposed to resonate when the bow touches the strings.
This is something I’ll have to investigate.
In the meantime, however, I subscribed to a channel on YouTube that has instructional videos for beginner violinists like myself. Since I live in small town America this is the only outlet that I have for someone who knows what their doing with the instrument.
I’m still watching, listening, and learning.
This might be a little harder than what I thought…

“Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” -Berthold Auerbach
Every since I was a young boy I wanted to play the violin. Now I have the opportunity to start.
I’m excited about this new opportunity, but I’m worried that it will start and end like a lot of goals that I’ve had where I’ll be excited about it but as time progresses and new interests arrive, I might just quit. Well, I hope this isn’t the case.
Wish me luck.

Asheia is enjoying her new obsession!
I bought a violin about a year ago, and Jerrad bought me a book with a DVD to help me learn. I got really excited and began immediately. First, I took it to the music store and got it tuned (because that’s what the DVD told me to do). Mike, the owner of the music store, said it was a really great quality violin(yay ebay!). However, I quickly lost steam when it got to the fingering part. I don’t know where to place my fingers. I found a place in Tulsa that will put fingering tape on my violin for $5. Now, I just have to make an appointment and go do it next time I’m in Tulsa. Oh, maybe the 29th…

I love music. Everytime I hear a beautiful song, I feel I should make music my career instead of a hobby. Sometimes, I feel I should become a singer, music director at times or atleast assist any existing music directors. Being through all these, I should say Violin is my first love. I wanted to learn to play since many years, but, that time hasn’t come yet. Am planning to go to tution nearby my home soon & I wish I could play at least one song on it before I die.

Argh! While trying to tune the thing, one of the strings broke on me. So now I have to get it tuned by a pro and fixed before I can try to learn it.
