How I did it: The rock wall @ my gym. I joined a group of other people that met once a week and they helped me learn the basics and then every time I would go to the gym I would hit the wall first before doing other things. It was fun because I was always challenging myself to get better by either getting to the top, climbing a harder trail, etc... Read how I did it…
How I did it: I taught myself. I'm an adrenaline junkie, so I didn't get professional instruction. I was at these cliffs one day with my friend, and I was like, dude, I'm going to climb this cliff. It was scary but when I made it to the top I had never felt better about myself! Now I climb all the time! Read how I did it…

I went bouldering with some buddies, this is the first step I think, it is pretty challenging and requires hand and forearm strength.

Is tomorrow (or today, if you want to be technical) and I’m a bit bummed because my knee is still bothering me and I don’t think I’ll be going. Or if I go, I probably shouldn’t be climbing as stairs are still bothersome for me. Logically I know I should let my knee heal and not risk greater injury, but I wanna climb some more!
I met an amazing guy in Iraq who loved to rock climb and now I can’t stop thinking about doing it. The only problem is, I live in SC and although there are rock climbing gyms, there is no “real” places to climb.

I’ve gone to two classes so far and I do like it. It is very challenging for me cause I’m a total weakling with little muscle strength and a bum shoulder, so it is a workout for me.

I finally signed up for a six-week beginner course that starts right after the new year. Now I need to figure out what gear to get before classes start. I’m figuring they’ll provide the harnesses, rope and other safety gear, but I probably should find a decent pair of “climbing” shoes.
Been climbing for about a year and a half now. Not done any outdoor climbing yet, but I climb indoors about 3 times a week now. It is great exercise: builds strength, stamina and makes you think. A lot of people think its all about upper body strength but its not, it works everything: legs, back, stomach, shoulders, etc. I love it.
[The pic is from last year when I first started]
it’s a nice sport, you can have fun with your friends,it needs a little practice and sometimes excite the adrenaline.I’ve done freeclimbing which is really cool and a lot of adrenaline, but i don’t advise you:)
lijewski_kristen3 is real excited seeing what God is doin in her and her friends lives!
to Upper Limits in Bloomington yesterday, and i did it. I climbed half way up a 5.6 and i felt very accomplished. i definitely felt safer having Cameron belay. i was kinda worried that he couldnt hold my weight, but he did. the automatic belay thing is scary. I had a ton of fun and cant wait to go again. Im going to climb it to the top next time, and if not i fail!
