I still haven’t updated my wardrobe nor even thought much about fashion this year. However, tonight as I was organizing my photos, I came across this home sewn corset, and suddenly I remember how magical a piece of cloth can be. 3 years ago

I really love this look, although I would probably wear it with a sash rather than a belt. 3 years ago

Oddly, the artwork of Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon impacted my aesthetic preferences as a child. I am still surprised how much her highly feminine characters appeal to me. 3 years ago

Never have I found a designer more in tune with my own style and inspirations. She crafts bird skull pendants, hourglass rings, and a talon cuff I would give my entire wardrobe to have!

Xena had a major impact on my developing aesthetics as a child. I still want to dress up as an “Amazon” when I see her! 3 years ago

because I have to work a ten hour shift which begins in fifty minutes.
So, in an effort to distract myself, I’ll keep posting fashions that inspire me and dreaming I could make them.

I love exotic clothing like Rachel Brice’s belly dance attire. I would absolutely wear that skirt, and her accessories look like something out of a Mucha painting! 3 years ago

I would love to be able to pull off this look. As soon as I finish toning my legs, I will invest in some quality black jeans and tights, then promptly steal my husband’s button-up shirts! 3 years ago

In contrast with the simple, feminine styles that appeal to me, I also love love love grungier, eclectic, and bohemian looks. I would feel absolutely at home in this. 3 years ago

I have no time for sewing or thrifting, but for the first time I have money, so that’s a start. There are items in my closet which I wore as much as eight years ago, when I was thirteen years old! My shoes have holes, my pants lack knees, my shirts are threadbare. Never mind the fact that most of them are unflattering and not at all reflective of who I am. This must change!
So, until I can begin acquiring pieces, I will use this goal to post inspirations and define whatever it is that my “style” may be.
I love the casual, feminine simplicity of the outfit above, although I would pass on the hat. 3 years ago

I have a lot of good daily options. And even more 5 pounds from now. I’m just saying.
I kind of need one more going out outfit – or to figure out some outfits with the pieces I have.
But if these were the clothes I needed for all year, I’d feel pretty good about it. Tragically, the seasons change and my cold weather wardrobe is pretty sad.
Will dust the goal off in the fall! 3 years ago

wardrobe revamp until I lose some weight. Meanwhile life goes on.
So it’s just depressing to see it here. Closing it and moving it to the hold page. 4 years ago

The reality is a have some nice winter stuff – and some of it is just about 5-6 pounds too small.
Leaving that sad story aside, the new boots rock. I’m thinking I need a pair of cowboy boots for everyday wear – for the park and wetter days out and so on.
The new warm jacket and rain jacket are great. Loving them. And the new tweed skirt is perfect.
In other good news, I finally went to zafu again and ran their jeans finder. All of my expensive jeans have holes in and I was not going to drop big money on something that needed to be altered for the whole waist / hips issue again. So since the jeans that came up as best fit were affordable (Levi 529 – curvy jeans). I just went online and ordered them. And yes! They fit much better through the waist. I got 2 sizes and both will work – though the smaller one even better a few pounds farther down. So thank god, I can go out without knee holes now.
It would really be nice to have a few new sweaters – but I can make due for now without. 5 years ago
