Blown away - winter returns with a vengeance 2 years ago

Sydney – has gone from the driest August to the 3rd wettest September on record and its only the 9th! Alas not nearly enough rain has fallen where its needed to end the drought. The weather severely interrupted my plans for Wednesday and Thursday. The coast has been lashed by high winds and big seas.

August Australia - "The Driest Yet" 2 years ago

Global warming (http://www.sierraclub.org/globalwarming/qa/) will play a part in my life and yours and our children and grandchildren beyond that life as we know it could end. http://healthandenergy.com/global_warming.htm

Get use to the idea and plan for the worst.

Australian Bureau of Meteorology said last month was the driest August on record! It was also the warmest!

The press recently has been publishing warnings about the inevitability of global warming http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/0403-01.htm and suggesting we should start to implement measures to mitigate the effects.

Governments need to be planning now for the inevitable. There is going to be massive distribution on a world wide scale and we cant stop it! So lets plan for it!

Its the 2nd day of spring... 2 years ago

and the temperature is 28 degrees feels more like 30, its that hot I have had to switch on the air conditioner! If this is a sign of whats in store for us this coming summer we are going to have a scorcher.

On top of the heat our water situation is getting critical most reservoirs are below the 40% mark soon we will all be on water restrictions. Again attributed to Global warming affecting weather patterns.

What does all this mean and why? But more importantly what can you all do about it? http://www.greenhouse.gov.au/gwci/

Me I am not going to do any thing because like the US government and big business I believe global warming isn’t caused by human interaction its got nothing to do with burning fossil fuels so I am going nothing. For the rest of you that think differently you can.

Ten easy ways to cool global warming
1. Walk, cycle or use public transport.
2. Use compact fluorescent lights.
3. Purchase the highest energy-efficiency star rating appliances.
4. Insulate your home and save on heating and cooling costs.
5. Add insulation to electric hot water units.
6. Cut hot water consumption by showering with a friend, washing clothes in cold water and by fitting a water-efficient shower head.
6. Replace an electric hot water service with solar or high-efficiency gas
7. Support renewable energy.
8. Service your car regularly and, when buying a new car, choose one that is fuel-efficient.
9. Rate the energy efficiency of your new home design.
10. Plant, protect and conserve existing trees and shrubs.
