How to go white water rafting

 "I laughed so much that my stomach hurt. This is so much fun and I'm already looking forward to next time!"
How I did it: I have been talking about going white water rafting for the last couple of years but somehow it never quite happened. Until last weekend when I went to Hvítá river in Iceland with a group of 25 people. The best thing is that by doing this I was also working towards my goal to volunteer for 100 hours in 2009 since I when on this trip with a group of handicapped teenagers (15-25 years old). They had such a blast, and besides enjoying the ride myself, I felt so good being able to help them experiencing something they would otherwise not have been able to. Lessons & tips: Bring a warm sweater (fleece or wool) that you don´t mind getting wet, swim suit to wear under the neoprene pants, a towel to dry off after the rafting and some warm cloths to put on afterward Resources: http://adventures.is/Iceland/Rafting/ |

How I did it: My dad and i just took a day trip down the river it was so great even when we fell out, the sun was out and i didnt want to get a shoe tan so i took off my water shoes and kept them in the raft but when we flipped i lost my shoes and my dad was super pissed!!! Luckily our friends had mini rafts like us and i just swam over to them while my dad tried to rescue our boat P.s. white water is not easy to swim in!!! Read how I did it…

My friend Carly and I have planned a weekend trip to Jasper with the sole purpose of going white water rafting. We just have to make the reservation. I’m really excited. She went when she was in Austria, apparently, and said she LOVED it and thinks that I will too. I hope so. I could use a rush right now!

Last year, Manda and Britt and I were going to go, but then my tonsils decided they hated me. So, hopefully this year we can go. The place in deerfield has white water rafting, but I think ziplining and white water rafting in one day would be painful.

To go river rafting is something I have always wanted to do. I hope I´ll be able to tick this one of very soon because I’m planing on taking a trip which includes white water rafting before the end of May.

I’ve been white water rafting in Colorado, West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee. The best river I’ve been on is the Little Pigeon River near the Smokies in TN. The water is dam-controlled so there are lots of rapids. I love it so much!

This is something I have always wanted to do. I don’t think it is something my hubby would enjoy though. I need to find someone to go with me, and then find where we want to go, then budget for it.
