Perform my own music

I played the flute with piano accompaniment for over 1,000 during a posh dinner fundraiser. I have never had so many compliments in my life and some were from musicians. I now feel like maybe I’m not as bad as I thought I was.
I am looking into local outlets for amateur musicians.
Anyway, if that dinner event was the peak of my musical career I can still be happy.

When someone says, “Oh let me hear something” or “Do you play?”, I go to the piano and I play and I sing. I know that these people are not judging me harshly because they care about me. They’re all compliments and this is building my confidence so that I can later play for strangers. In the meantime, I’m taking advantage of each opportunity that presents itself. I’m already seeing improvements…

I want to perform to prove to myself that I can. I can squeek by at church-related gigs, but I want to play my own music and do so beautifully and confidently. Once will suffice.

Most people dream of being a star, they want the fame and fortune, get their name out there so they can earn big bucks, I just want people to hear my music, and hope that it means something. I would love for people to listen to my music, listen to the words, enjoy it, and know that my music has meaning.
