Host a Murder Mystery Party

It might be a cheap way to celebrate/commiserate turning (gulp) 35. Logistically tricky, though. I don’t think there is space in our living room to open the leaves of the table and fit eight people around it, not with the new sofas. Plus a guest list that small can lead to some tricky diplomacy over who to invite. Hm. Perhaps I’ll just hide in a box on my 35th.

..who accept me and love me just the way I am, because I am fucked off with so-called friends who pretend to like me then bitch about me behind my back, avoid me and don’t invite me to their fucking nights out and instead just let me read about them on fucking Facebook. They can all fuck off.

I decided to host both a murder mystery party and my birthday party all in one. I purchased the packet online and just sent the invitations!

Can’t wait!

The game required far more preparation than anticipated and I wish that I would have ordered catering instead of cooking but I had a great time. Almost everyone came in character and most were happy to mingle and get their interrogation on. Folks surprised me with their acting skills and there were a few moments of great banter.

I’d like to do this again, but as a guest instead of a host.

This past Halloween I hosted my murder mystery party. It really was alot of fun. Even the guests that are normally quiet and reserved got into their characters. 3 of the 12 guests solved the crime correctly. I had gift cards as prizes. I’m glad I did this.

My murder mystery party is Hallowe’en themed. There is a wiccan Hallowe’en festival coming up and that weekend, we will have the murder party!

My party wasn’t a murder mystery out of a box, but one that I created based on one I’d played back in highschool. It was kinda like the game mafia using the whole house and only one murderer. It was a success, and I hope to do it again!

It’s set for March 16- now I just have to plan things out and get supplies.
