get contacts

I now currently have a trial pair in and will be ordering my contacts next friday when i go back in for the follow up appointment.. this goal is done!

I used to think that I would look terrible without my glasses, but I just took some webcam photos of myself without wearing my glasses… and I look totally fine.

It’s just weird because I’ve had glasses since preschool, no lie.
So pretty much my entire life.

But, I’m going to college soon, and this is something that I want, so I am going to get to work on it.

I can’t wait. finally life without glasses, well kind of.

My eyes are getting worse, actually. I broke my lenses at a concert about a year ago and the replacements were slightly different and my eyes have suffered for it.

I am terrified of spending money and that’s the primary cause for my inaction.

Had my contact fitting appointment on Tuesday – I have my trial pair and go back for my refit appointment this coming Tuesday. After that I will have contacts for real!

I want to partake in the sunglasses trend!!!

I’ve had glasses since preschool. I just got my nose pierced, so my glasses slide down over it sometimes, just a bit, but still. I’d like to try contacts. Also, I’d feel more like I could wear makeup if I had contacts. My mom has said before that I can get them, I just have to pay for them myself. So we’ll see how much it’ll cost me.

After weeks and weeks of going back to the contact store I think I have found a pair that I can live with. First they had me in a set that were too small and squeezing my eyes. Next, they put me in a pair that were too big and floated around a bit. Then they tried a smaller pair and thought that was just right. But they had me in the most expensive brand/style and wanted to take me down a few levels. After all of this time (6 weeks) I finally went in yesterday and order three months worth. I guess I can cross this off my list.

Last week was my eye appointment. They took the measurements of my eye and started me with a trial pair. At first I was having a really hard time taking them out and putting them in. I have gotten much better at that though. However, I can always tell they are in; I can feel them. And I am having trouble using a computer while wearing them: my vision gets really blurry and I have trouble switching at looking at it and then looking out at customers. Tomorrow I go back for another consultation. They say it takes a while to get a perfect fit, so I won’t move this to the finished category until everything is going smoothly.

Today I called my regular eye doctor and made an appointment for February 19th. From there I will take my prescription information to a cheaper location (shopko? smerican’s best?) and talk to them about contacts. My regular eye doctor charges too much for contacts, plus some “contact class” you have to take. He also requires that I return every six months to see how my eyes are doing. I don’t have eye insurance and therefore don’t need to waste my time on his strange rules.

Ummm, I’d like to be able to see. Sometimes I forget my glasses and sometimes I get tired of having to clean them. It’s about time I realized that I am blind without them and I need to correct this problem. Yes, I am getting old.
