Practice Spanish 4 weeks ago

I used to be really great in Spanish, almost fluent and then I let it get away from me. I know I can get back to that level with practice, I just need to practice and find a place and situation to do it. Maybe moving to Mexico… :)

I've a little start on this 2 years ago

since I’ve been watching lots of Almodovar lately :) also talking with a couple of the Spanish instructors in Spanish here and there… I’m going to get out the big yellow grammar review book and start going thru it for my summer review, plus continue with movies :)

I keep gettin better! ;) 3 years ago

I think thats about all you CAN do to learn a foreign language is just to practice and keep repeating yourself. I dont know if I’m some kind of a freak or something but I LOVE to study languages! lol Just knowing that I’m learning something new and becoming more fluent excites the hell out of me! hehe

Dont Want to Lose What I've Already Learned! 3 years ago

I took four years of high school Spanish and got very, very good at it. In fact my teacher trusted me enough a few times to teach her first year class (whilst the substitute supervised) while she was gone because she did not want them to fall behind. I put so much effort into it, it’d be a shame to lose some skill. I can still easily read it and write it, but learning to speak and interpret what you hear, is difficult. I think I’ll watch some movies in Spanish, with and without English subtitles, and then in English in Spanish subtitles, to help. I think I’d also like to obtain some advanced Spanish textbooks (I used to have some old ones that were great, got them from my old teacher). Reading every day Spanish will also help, I think.

high school, one month in costa rica, but 3 years ago

too embarrassed to practice. one of those things everyone means to do, but because of certain chauvinisms in our society, few have the social wherewithal to do.
