How to learn how to write my name in arabic
It made me
oh so happy inside 
"I was traveling in Egypt and one of our guides taught me and my friends how to write our first names in Arabic"
How I did it: I was shown how by an Egyptian and kept doodling all our names throughout the trip to remember them. I also learned how to write the numbers and could recognize them on our passport stamp/ train seats/ tickets etc...
Lessons & tips: Some older English dictionaries list the Arabic alphabet under the entry for "alphabet".
Resources: Check out a childrens book to learn some basic Arabic. I like the "first thousand words in Arabic".
