plain and simple I LOVE BONO. I seriously would travel just like he does around the world and try to influence people as much as possible if I had the money and time to. For right now though, I’m concentrating on myself (career, education) until I have the means to help!!

I’ve been on one mission trip already and it was amazing. Wow.

I met Bono in the Boston Airport the day after seeing U2 on their Zooropa tour. They were flying back to Ireland between tour legs. I was at the Delta counter and the ticket agent tells me in this hushed voice “The band UB40 is down there” pointing to the other end of the counter. So I think “Cool..Red Red Wine…I’ll just go have a look-see”. So I walk down, wearing my concert shirt I procured the night before, and lo and behold Bono and The Edge are standing there with Paul McGuiness and some Delta people. Yeah…U2, NOT UB40!!!I stop in my tracks, my jaw drops, and I literally gawk like an idiot. Bono, being the God he is, sees me, the idiot I am, and motions for me to come over. I walk over and shake his hand….he asks if I enjoyed the concert and I could barely talk. I shoved my plane ticket at him asking him to sign it. He asked for a pen and I go to my backpack where I realize I have my ticket stub so he signs that instead. Only later, after my brain has resumed working, do I realize my CAMERA WAS IN MY BACKPACK TOO!!! DOH!!! I still have my ticket stub that says “To Gina Bono 97”. I will never forgive myself for not getting my picture taken with him though!!

Bono…when are you going to come to Charleston…or anywhere within driving distance so I can see your beautiful face again?

I have been a fan for years and gave him flowers once at a concert in Chicago and he took them and handed them to another girl and said “Here I got these just for you”
I want to give him a chance to apologize :-)).
Also my sister’s husband is a chef in New Orleans and cooked a private dinner for U2 after Katrina but Bono wasn’t there so I missed my chance there. It’s destined to happen someday

I still have this thing in my mind that one day I will meet Bono. I’ve been in love with this man since I was 13 and I still believe the one day it will happen! I’m willing to go to crazy extremes in order to complete this goal. If only I was this passionate about more practical things in my life.

Probably Never Happen 2 years ago

Ditto to all the stuff PoisonFree wrote. I’ve been a loyal fan since about ‘85 – and FINALLY got to see them live in Oakland in 2005 – wow, talk about religious experience!
I don’t even know what I would possibly say to the man, but he is the only celebrity that I have ever felt the urge to want to meet. Who knows – maybe someday I’ll get lucky – stranger things have happened.

A Visionary 2 years ago

I have been a fan of U2 since 1980. I am Bono’s age, I feel like we have grown up together. I adore his lyrics, they are thought provoking and make me want to be a better human. I feel like he is spiritually connected with God and I admire a “Rock Star” embracing his spirituality and writing songs about it. This is why they are so successful, because they love God. I think this is why they are such a generous, kind, empathetic, moving, awesome, group. I would like to thank him, he has taught me allot, he IS the change he wants to see in the world.

All hail Bono 2 years ago

This one speaks for itself. He’s an amazing man, he’s sexy, he does good, he writes fantastic music. The man is a god.

Got within touching distance of Him during the concert but he just wouldn’t shake my hand. Wonder if they’ll ever come back to NZ

2 years ago he came to my school to give a foreword to a lecture by Dr. Jeffrey Sachs – he’s a crowd pleaser.
