I have been taking lots of pictures and using LiveJournal more often. Of course, there’s always room for improvement, but I think I’m doing a decent job.

of things relating to DH. If I get enough stuff in it, I could write it up as a gift to him for an anniversary or something.

Also, I have started writing in my LiveJournal semi-regularly. An improvement over previous months.

to save my current camera.

Basically, it involves a variation on the paperclip idea. I’ll shape the paperclip carefully into a shape similar to a thumbtack. Rather than attaching the paperclip to the camera with scotch tape, I will attach it with a blob of clay. I’m hoping this will keep it nice and “stuck” to the camera. Scotch tape always ends up ripping over time.

Who cares if the clay gets into the camera? If this idea doesn’t work I’m going to have to buy a new camera anyway.

seems to be my average rate of posting to my LJ account. I posted another entry today, about this weekend’s trip to Las Vegas, and my online photo album even had captions! It seems like I’m only really compelled to post when I’ve gone on a special trip. Maybe that’s ok, but I’d like to do better.

I think it will help to get a new digital camera. The one I have is missing the little rubber nubbin you push to take a picture, so instead I have to jam a paperclip in the hole every time I want to take a picture. I keep losing the paperclip and it’s a huge hassle. So I think I’ll look into buying a newer, smaller camera that comes complete with little rubber button.

I suppose I need to get a little more sophisticated with permissions on my entries. There are some thought I’d like to share with my friends but not with my parents. Mostly to avoid a hurt-feelings sort of situation. As it is right now, I just have to be very political about my posts. And that makes them a little boring…

I wrote a LJ entry about my recent backpacking trip. Rather than giving a play-by-play description of the trip, I just wrote some general impressions I had about the trip and a few memorable incidents. I had more fun writing this entry than previous ones, so I think it’s a good start toward turning my journal into something I enjoy, and therefore maintain.

But the “words” part is lagging behind.

I’ve been doing well with taking, posting, captioning, and tagging photos for any major activities I do (mostly on the weekends). I haven’t been writing many (read: any) LiveJournal entries, though. I guess I just need to convince myself that it’s better to write an incomplete post than not to write one at all. I need to make it into something I look forward to doing because I don’t have any particular expectations of quality.

I haven’t been keeping up with my LiveJournal posts. For shame…

• carrying my camera around in my purse
• taking pictures occasionally
• setting up a Livejournal account where I can post & caption pictures, and make journal entries

I’d like to increase the frequency of my pictures and my posting to LiveJournal. I will mark this goal as complete once I have made posts with associated pictures at least once a week for two months.

Let the great experiment begin!

I was amused that my bread is shaped kind of funny. I was also amused that I actually wasn’t surprised at the bread’s funny shape, considering that it came from Trader Joe’s. I like that I expect weirdness from them, rather than being, well, weirded out.
