I’m still working on my second book. I know it has been a while since the first one was published, but circumstances have come up that have delayed it for a while. But I am continuing to write and put my thoughts together. One thing I have done is just write for the sake of writing, not so I can publish everything I write. I don’t want to get out of the practice of writing, so I find recording random thoughts in a journal helpful. Some of those random thoughts make it into my writing, and some do not. But at least I continue to put something down on paper. Writing has become more important to me than ever.
It’s called My Authentic Inspirations and I just posted an entry for today, November 8. I have finally finished the surprise I was working on for weeks. I hope that you enjoy it, and feel free to leave me comments. Oh, yeah, don’t forget to turn your speakers on!
Getting to the writing, one tip I have is to take a notebook everywhere you go. I was in church and started writing a few lines while I was listening to the service. Sometimes things will just come to you, no matter if you are in a room full of people or just by yourself. Don’t let them get away! Get one of those small memo pads (ladies, you can even fit them in your purse) and have a few pens on hand. You never know when inspiration will strike. It’s time to get out all of my material I’ve been working on lately and take a look at it.
Writing My Authentic Soul was the greatest thrill for me. Even as I wrote some of the poems, I shed some tears, but they came because getting my feelings down on paper was a therapeutic process. Writing has given me an outlet to release emotions I thought would remain hidden forever. If I can use what God has given me to help someone else, that would be wonderful.
