learn double-knitting

Knitting two sided, knitting two socks at one (one within the other, not next to each other), I want to do it all. Casting off and pulling out one finished sock from within the other, now that’s got to be the high accomplishment in knitting geekdom.

I’ve been around looking for instructions of double knitting in two colors. I saw one even demonstrating how to create patterns with colors…

My current obsession/fascination is with double-knitting, a process by which you can knit both sides of a garment at the same time, resulting in a perfectly reversible garment with stockinette stitch on both sides.

Right now, I’m hoping to knit this pattern:

It’s a double-knitted, felted pirate booty bag. Right now, I’m making a swatch to see if the yarns I have will felt nicely. I hope they will!
