I hopped on the scale this morning – 10 lbs down! I started w/ a fad diet, and then ended up switching to another – and they both made me feel like crap. So I stuck with the yoga & ultimately ended up counting calories. You know, there are no long lasting short cuts, and you’ve got to find what’s right for you. That’s the bottom line.
On to the next!

I weighted in after my first week and I’d lost 8 lbs…WOO HOO…but then I weighed in after another week and I hadn’t dropped an ounce. I had real resolve during week 1 and its started to tapper off now. Yoga tonight(!!!) and volleyball on Sunday and I’ll feel better, right?

I just got back from my first run – it wasn’t as miserable as I expected. The nice thing about the podcasts is that they’re free, so I dont feel bad for getting them for myself, and this one I’m running with is done by a guy who is doing the program for himself and all of the intervils are timed out for me. The trick will be getting myself to do it again on Thursday – this program has you running 3 days a week. I also found a yoga one that I did as a cool down and BOY is my flexibility gone. I’ve practised yoga before & I’ve lost a lot since then…my hamstrings are like drum heads. But I feel pritty good – I’m even going to go have an apple for breakfast. :D

I downloaded some podcasts to help me get started on my weightloss journey. I’m 6’0” about 200lbs – my first goal is 190, but long term I’d like to be 170. My biggest problem that I’ve been going in the wrong direction and my family has a history of being overweight so if I dont start now it will just get worse. The 3 podcasts I’m subscribing to are a Runner’s Podcast – Couch to 5K in 3 months; YOGAmazing; and Weightloss and the Mind about the psychology of weightloss. So I’m starting today – going for a run as soon as my iPod gets updated.
Here we go!
