buy another typewriter

I’ve been using word processors for 15 years- since I’ve been typing really. Recently I went and bought an old typewriter- IT’S THE BEST!!! Firstly it’s a really nice atavistic feeling to type manually. Secondly- it’s better for your mind as you don’t have a back key like you do on a computer to alter text so you have to be more congruent in your mind as to what you want to write. And thirdly it just looks so much better when you type something- than with a word processor. Having to repair it is also part of the joy. It got me all excited about oldskool technology. I’m even looking into buying an old 78 wind up record player now.

i cannot afford it, and need to buy clothes for work, but i am doing this friday. i hope it’s turquios and metal. smooth and heavy. i hope all the keys work, but i hope one is crooked, or offset- just for added flair.

i used them very little. now i miss them terribly and am finally in a position where i could really use them. as soon as i have time, i’m spending half a day thrift store diving for one. i’m also going to try and find a “speak-and-spell”.
