Starting now! 1 week ago

Allright, this point is in my list for 9 months already and I haven’t tried once to even start trying!
How hard can it be to say no to a chocolatebar or ben&jerry icescream? of course, it is lovely and for a while it makes you feel better. But it’s just working for a few minutes, after eating it, it makes me fees miserable. those few minutes are just nog worth the sad feeling I have afterwards. But if I was doing homework instead of eating chocolate, I’d feel good about myself afterwards! either about doint something for school as for the fact that I didn’t ate out of boredom!
From now on, I’m trying to reach this goal.
For one month, I won’t eat out of boredom!

I have no idea how, but since I set this goal I have eaten about half of what I normally would!

Yesterday normally would be around 3 meals and lots of snacks!

Cheese Sandwich, Happy Meal, Knickerbockerglory (with fruit not nuts so not as bad) and a couple of sweets!! Plus alot of fruit and water!!!

I’m goooooooooooooooood

Other things 4 months ago

Having another 35 things to do is keeping me distracted from going down stairs to the kitchen!

Yesterday I had a mug of cereal and lasagne with peppers.
That was it!!!!
I also drank lots of water!
Good day lets try again today!!!

JSpengs is slowly making progress

I’ve been trying to eat a little bit of every food group per meal. Like, if I eat a bowl of cereal in the morning, I also eat a slice of lunchmeat, and a little bit of fruit, baby carrots, or juice. That seems to hold me over between meals for the most part.

This comes and goes for me. I try to drink water or chew gum when I have it. I noticed that when I was a gum addict I didn’t snack as much.

Lose 50 pounds in 9 months 13 months ago

I really want to lose 50 pounds in 9 months. I never lost all of my baby weight and we are going to Disney and I want to be thin.

Peanuts! 18 months ago

Today I noticed 2 things:

1- boredom eating comes on quick. It’s not a gradual hunger. Now that I’ve noticed this, I can watch for it a little better.

2- I still boredom eat, but much more infrequently, and I’m slower to pick what I eat. The last incident concluded with me picking a bag of peanuts over a piece of chocolate cake.

Go me!

Bored with Boredom Eating 19 months ago

I think a lot of my “boredom” is well-disguised avoidance. I convince myself I’m bored when I’ve really just run out of fun things to do and am left with the actual work. So now I can catch myself boredom-eating and make a slightly more intellectual decision on the food in question. I still eat out of boredom, but not as often, and I’m aware of the foods I’m choosing, like I try to handle that chocolate craving with 2 hershey kisses instead of a whole bar. I’ve also noticed that the more I force myself to do the “icky” work on my to-do list, the less I boredom-eat.

i feel pretty confident now 2 years ago

i reckon that i am at a point where i can happily say that i have got a real handle on this. i am able to fine comsthing else to do whemn i am bored instead of eat. at the moment i find that i am knitting (its another goal of mine!) so its all woking out pretty well. also i have taken to running (another goal of mine) and its helping me to see when i am actaully really hungry, or it just gives my mind something else to do!
