I’m not sure how it makes you live longer unless you’re prone to dying of gum disease, etc.
I will say, however it is worth flossing just so that your gums don’t bleed when you do, and no more second degree at the dentist office!
Plus, you save money on having to fill cavities that form in between your teeth- that was what really did it for me.
How to floss my teeth daily
How I did it: I bought dental floss some month ago, because there was a small spot between my teeth which had a dark fleck and I couldn't get rid of it - not even after I brushed my teeth or used a toothpick (my dentist managed to get rid of it for me in the end).
Anyway, the dental floss has been standing in the bathroom right next to my toothbrush for month. Hence one evening I just started to use it. Now, it has become kind of natural and I stopped asking myself whether I should or shouldn't use it today - and a minute longer in the bathroom won't kill me ;-)
Lessons & tips: Just buy it, put it right next to your toothbrush so you won't forget to floss your teeth and then do it. If you manage to keep on doing it for at least a whole week, then it should have become natural (at least it did for me).

I really haven’t been flossing at all. Its been over a week. I’ve just been so busy moving and stuff. Now that I am moved I hope to get into a routine and include flossing in it! We’ll see how I do.
I was doing great with this for a while, but I hardly ever floss anymore. It’s especially important for me because I have braces. I’ll try again, and see if I can make this a habit.
I can’t wait to tell my dentist that I have been flossing. Although I only do it on weekdays, but I am only consistant with any of my habits on weekdays.
I am using the Reach Access thingy and it is so much less gross than regular floss.
If I don’t start flossing my teeth every day, I will have to have them done every half year, which neither my economy nor I want to have happen. So I will have to start do this.
