get an oil change

am I really imperiling my engine by not using the recommended all-synthetic oil – and if so, why didn’t anyone tell me sooner?

Done!! Only cost me 35 bones too… I feel a lot better about driving my car across the city now, and not having to be paranoid that the engine is gonna kick the bucket at any given moment.

I was scheduled to do this 2 weeks from now, but since my car was already in the shop, why not get it done so I don’t have to go back? Done today.

It’s been about a year and a half…. that’s bad right?

I forced myself to go do this. I also had my transmission fluid changed. I’m glad I made myself do some car work this weekend.

nevermind doing it myself…my car is a ‘91 (complicated to change the oil) and my bf explained everything I’d have to do…out in the cold…and getting dirty…and I’d have to get the supplies
yea, i’m not that desperate yet…
thankfully.
so I scheduled this for friday a.m…it’s supposed to be about $51 (including tire rotation)
horray…

Eh …

I’ve been going to the same place to get my oil changed for years. I trust them. They do extra stuff for me because they know I’m pretty much an incompetent car owner.

For the past few years I would flirt with the guy behind the counter. We’d make small talk and I’d go on my way. Well, two months ago things progressed and he called me and asked me out. I said yes! He seemed like a really sweet and genuine guy …

So, the time comes for us to go out and I ask him what he wants to do and he said “how about each other?” This was … a shock! He was being extremely serious. He just wanted to have sex with me. I told him that I wasn’t that kind of girl and I haven’t heard from him since.

So, do I find a new mechanic? I don’t really want to since this place knows my car … and part of me wants to walk up in there in the next week and show that SOB what he missed out on.

:/ At the same time it makes my stomach queasy.

I’m going to wait two more weeks…why? because i’m using money towards other things… :)

im still scared to spend money since the letter from the bank, i’m going to wait an extra week or something for this. :) maybe I should compare prices of places…
