I found me my geek! =]
Ohhhhh my So smart, it’s so beautiful.
Life is good, dating someone smart is definetaly worth it. I’m finally super happy.
How to date a geek
How I did it: I listen much, (For everyone has led an interesting life and has a lesson to teach me.)
Love all, (All life is beautiful in its own way)
Talk little, (For few words haunt little.)
Hate none, (For no grudge is worth the wasted energy)
Annnnd I'm told that I'm pretty damn cute. =P (Self-assurance will shine brighter then any bragging words.)
Lessons & tips: Lesson : It is not soley the intellect of the young lady, nor number of her social discomforts, that make her a good partner for me. Rather it is the depth of her whole character that unites.
Still, I've enjoyed every relationship I yet had with geek girls and recommend it vehemently.

- C.S. Lewis
Tip : My friends - just get out there and take risks. You'll find someone. They're seeking you out just as hard as you are them.
Resources: I often blame my highly social career path for why I'm so outgoing these days.

spookie has passed her first year!
In order, my serious boyfriends have been an engineering student, a sound engineer, and a software developer.
However, they have to contend with my totally different geekery – I’m a language geek. I adore linguistics, languages, etymology… not to mention I can’t stop quoting Monty Python…
I don’t think I could date a NOT-geek.
I wait for the day I have a girlfriend who can write me love poems in obfuscated C…
I’m certain I didn’t get emails about some of the comments on my previous entry.
Some brilliant ideas there. And oddly enough, I’ve not been focussed on this goal. But it sort of (almost) happened anyway.
I’d met a couple of ‘geeks’ (for wont of a better word) that I had great connections with while on sabbatical/holiday/working remotely from NZ. Not quite a holiday romance… but enough to show me that this goal is worth pursuing.
I suppose I should write something about it. =]
So yeah, I’d like to date a geek. I’ve gone on dates with a few “geeks” in the past, a trekkie, an author, a gamer girl, a lot of bookworms, a history major, a couple professors out for coffee after a semester; you get the idea. Nothing that ever panned out to a relationship. However those dates where so much more enjoyable then anything I’ve gone on recently. I’m kind of coming out of my “I’m to busy for a relationship” shell right now so I think I’d like to try again.
They do not necessarily have to be a particular kind of geek or socially uncomfortable (although that is extremely cute). I’m mostly just searching for someone intelligent. Someone passionate about learning. Someone I can have an actual conversation with.
