The house is finally getting some attention! I looked at a lot of Open Houses this summer and seriously considered buying one or two, but the prices are so high that it seemed to make more sense to fix up my house. So I got to work.
I had air conditioning and central heating installed. I had new outlets installed. The bathroom floor was retiled. And the back porch was replumbed, so a washing machine and a dryer will fit there.
I would still like to buy a house I cherish but until prices come down to a realistic level, I need to make do with the house I have.

Well they aren’t all gone but I did get out and weed. The front looks better (but still needs work) and the backyard is looking pretty clean. I need to fix the fence and then plan along it for some privacy.

The weather has been nice lately so all the plants are growing in my yard, including weeds – lots of weeds. Tuesday morning I will go out front and start the task of getting rid of them. Luckily, there are so many plants in the yard that the weeds aren’t too noticable, except to me.
I hope the weather is nice.

Things have been busy at work and it shows when I walk in the house. It’s messy and needs straightening. I have been cleaning but I haven’t been good about putting things away. I need to sort thru the mail and get rid of the junk. The garage needs a good weekend of work – there is just too much stuff in there.
I will work on this after I finish all the errands I need to run today. I’ll clean off the kitchen counter and straighten up the family room. That will help quite a bit. :)

I can’t afford it at its listing price but I absolutely love that house! I think it needs a lot of work which is why it is still on the market. I’ll continue to dream while I work on my house.
What I need to do is make a list of the things my house doesn’t have that cause problems. Not serious problems, but things like having the dryer in the garage, which makes it challenging to do laundry when it’s raining (like this morning). Usually I hang my clothes out to dry but there are times I use the dryer. Since I bought a stackable unit it would make sense to have it in the house.
Getting the floor heating system for the bathroom is also on the list. So is heating and air conditioning.
My list of improvements I want to make:
new fence in the backyard
move stacking washer/dryer to back porch
install
HVACadd more outlets to dining room, hallways, and family room
get drains checked
buy warmlyours floor heating for bathtile kitchen counter
install french door
window in garage
move garage???

even if it’s a combination of some of my other goals. I need to love my house and then I can decide if I want to move to another house. I used to love my house but then I got bogged down with too many other things and let the house get out of control. Now it needs work and I am not enthusiastic at the idea of working on it. I need to keep my end goal in mind and just get things taken care of that need fixing.
